In a strategic move to stimulate growth and enhance connectivity, Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) has announced significant discounts on terminal and operational fees for new flights and airlines. This initiative aims to encourage the establishment of new routes and expand business operations at the airport.

During the celebration marking the first anniversary of SAI, Zou Yuhui, Chairman of Yunnan Air Investment Cambodia Airport (YACA) management, shared the details of this exciting development.

Incentives will be offered to launch new routes or to resume flights that have been suspended for over 12 months. These incentives include full waivers of landing, parking, lighting, and aerobridge fees during the first year, with a 50% reduction in the second year,” stated Chairman Zou.

Additionally, SAI will provide similar incentives for new airlines or those resuming operations after a suspension exceeding 12 months. These airlines will benefit from a 50% reduction in landing, parking, and electricity fees in the first year, followed by a 25% reduction in the second year.

To further incentivize operations, direct incentives will be awarded based on the number of passengers. Flights carrying between 120 and 150 passengers will receive a $400 incentive per flight, while flights with 150 or more passengers will be eligible for a $600 incentive.

Chairman Zou expressed confidence in the airport's future, stating, “With the guidance and support of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the backing of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, and the cooperation of all partners, Siem Reap Angkor International Airport will continue to progress and achieve sustainable development. This will provide new momentum for revitalizing Siem Reap’s tourism sector and contribute to Cambodia’s overall socioeconomic growth.”

The Minister in charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, Mao Havannal, highlighted several policies and favorable measures recently introduced by the Royal Government of Cambodia to promote and facilitate investment in new tourism products in Siem Reap Province.
