These remarkable bas-reliefs depict scenes from Hindu mythology, their vibrant colors defying the passage of time. Next, we delve into the ruins of Preah Khan, a temple commissioned by the prolific "temple builder" King Jayavarman VII in honor of his father. This atmospheric site offers an interesting contrast to the grandeur of Angkor Wat. Wander through the courtyards where towering trees intertwine with crumbling stone structures, creating a truly mystical ambiance. After exploring the Grand Circuit temples, we'll have a break for lunch (not included). Enjoy a delicious Cambodian meal at a nearby restaurant or pack your own picnic to savor amidst the Angkor complex. -Island Sanctuary: Neak Pean Our journey continues to Neak Pean, an artificial island adorned with a Hindu temple. This serene island sits amidst the vast Jayatataka Baray, a reservoir once linked to the Preah Khan temple complex. Soak in the tranquil atmosphere as you explore the intricately carved temple, a testament to the Khmer Empire's architectural mastery. -East Mebon's Majesty: Following the serenity of Neak Pean, we head to East Mebon, a temple mountain rising from the center of the East Baray reservoir.
